Caravan Park Overview

Littondale Caravan Park

Littondale Country & Leisure Park is in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, surrounded by stunning landscapes of lush dales, picturesque hills and heather-covered moors.

The holiday park extends to 37 acres, featuring only 90 static caravan pitches, 12 seasonal tourer pitches, and 6 glamping pods. Therefore, we believe this is the best caravan park for the quiet enjoyment of the spectacular local scenery and many attractions in the Yorkshire Dales. Moreover, it is also conveniently accessible to the many amenities of Grassington, just 6 miles away, as well as Skipton, which is 14 miles away, and other nearby villages.

The site contains a children’s adventure play area and 2 good sized grassed areas adjacent for ball games.

This is a dog friendly site with miles of walking trails and dog wash station.

Grassington is a picturesque small town, which feels like a village, with art galleries and crafts, cosy hotels and restaurants.

Skipton is a historic market town with a famous 900 year old castle and cobbled High Street, with many independent shops and restaurants.

The small village of Arncliffe 1.5 miles down the valley is the original setting for Emmerdale, and our local pub, the Falcon Inn in Arncliffe, was the original fictional Woolpack Inn. Historically the dale was also known as Amerdale, which is where Emmerdale is believed to take its name from.

The fabulous local scenery was also popular with the producers of the latest series of All Creatures Great and Small, who filmed in and around this area. In fact, they thought that Grassington had a better small-town feel than Thirsk, and therefore, it was used as the setting for the fictional town of Darrowby.

Here are some of the quotes from the actors about the local scenery.

Rachel Shenton – “We… shot in and around the Dales. The Dales are miles and miles of beautiful, undulating countryside, and it really is breathtaking.”

Nicholas Ralph – “I’m from the Highlands of Scotland which is picturesque, but when I got on the train and I was travelling through The Dales for the first time, much like James did, my eyes were glued to the window because it is like a beautiful painting.”

Callum Woodhouse – “Some of the shots of Yorkshire are so beautiful and you have never seen England look more picturesque… You will watch the first episode and want to visit The Dales. It is stunning.”

Anna Madeley – “The journey from London up to Yorkshire is pretty epic, you find yourself in this vast landscape that’s just absolutely stunning. It really took my breath away; so beautiful in all weathers.”
